Before Envelope Seal

Until recently, most builders used a building paper product, or at best, a "peel & stick" membrane to control moisture at the window to wall interface. As the diagram clearly shows, these methods leave too much opportunity for moisture and air to penetrate in and around the rough opening.

These insufficient methods ultimately lead to envelope failure, expensive repairs, and irate customers.

Take a tour through the following pictures to see what issues exist, and what can potentially happen if openings are not sealed properly.
